Character (Original Universe)
Name: Firion
Age: 18
Gender: Male
Canon: Final Fantasy II/Dissidia
Canon Point: Post both games
History: FFII History | Dissidia History
Personality: To have a dream to fill the world with wild roses makes Firion perhaps one of the most passionate of the heroes in the Final Fantasy series. It also makes him seem a bit childish and even gullible at times (Lamia Queen, anyone?). However, his passion comes from the fact that his life has been filled with pain and suffering due to the war and turmoil caused by The Emperor and all he wants is a world free from it. His parents had died and so he came to live with Maria and Leon (who are siblings) and became friends with Guy, who had been raised by animals. And now, their parents are dead as well, leaving all four the only survivors (though Leon is separated and worked for the Emperor). Firion is a simple and earnest man. Everyone knows it as well as he.
Perhaps that's why the Queen Hilda let him and his friends join the Wild Rose rebellion, even when she hadn't wanted to originally. This is why, even without his memories in Dissidia, the Wild Rose is cherished so much by him. He may not remember all of his friends or his home, the flower brought him hope during the seemingly endless Conflict. He never once actually walked with a flower in his game proper, but in Dissidia, it meant the world to him even when all of his memories were scattered.
Firion wanted to prove himself, that he could fight with the kingdom to end the Emperor's tyranny. While not usually impulsive (although it does happen from time to time), he really doesn't hesitate much either. Upon waking up in the Altair Keep after his town was burned down, he hardly thought of the consequences or the fact that he was young, he immediately wanted to get revenge and fight. He wants to believe he can make a difference, no matter what he does, even when he doesn't realize that his adventure gets more and more dangerous and larger than he ever thought it could get. But it doesn't stop him over the course of the story, it only makes him stronger.
But it's that simplicity, that earnestness, and that childlike dream that he holds so dear to his heart that allows him to touch the hearts of many. Even when he doesn't even realize he is doing it. He gave Cloud a reason to fight, a reason to believe despite the man's doubts and in turn, Cloud shared Firion's dream with Terra. All because of a Wild Rose. It is also because of this connection that allows him to become such good friends with those around him. He cherishes his friends dearly and will do anything for them. It's why Guy is probably the closest to Firion than anyone else, because Firion just puts Guy's safety, happiness, everything before his own, even when no one else would befriend the young man because of his upbringing.
And it is also his bravery and strength that sets him apart from others. He will go where ever he must to help those in need and he will ensure his friends are safe. Adventurous and maybe a little silly, Firion's passion for seeing his dream come true holds no bounds. He will bravely fight for what he believes in, he will bravely fight for his friends, and he will never turn away a friend in need. His strength of heart to fight even in the more dire of situations, to never give up, truly sets him apart from others. He rarely doubted and never looked back. To be adventurous is to see what the future holds, isn't it? At least, that what Firion always thought.
He even manages to get the pirate, Leila, to join their side, even after she and her crew tried to rob them! Of course, once Firion and his party defeated the crew and spared her life, surprising her with their kindness, she gladly joined the rebellion when offered. Even pirates disliked the Emperor, after all. It was made quickly apparent that he gained her respect, and vice versa, when she continued to help them after the war was over and she offered him a spot in her crew. Something that surprised even him!
However, despite being the seemingly poised, mature one, the mediator in some cases (ie, when Tidus is around and Cecil isn't there to play daddy), he is inwardly a bit childish and a little impulsive. In Dissidia, he was willing to take on Sephiroth, someone who most likely would have outmatched him in a matter of moments, just to get his rose back. Perhaps his dream is something he clings too heavily on. But, at this point, it's also all he has.
Firion cherishes the simplest of things, which is why his dream of filling the world with flower (a sign of peace and no war) tends to leave everyone else rather inspired by Firion. Everyone has a dream, it's just that no one expected his. He's simple and kind, but fiercely loyal and protective. He doesn't want or need much, just his friends and his world without Conflict. And he will fight for that.

Mognet Sample: Dear Fellow Heroes of Light,
Obviously, this has been going on for a few months now so I will try not to ask the same questions that have been asked previously. Repeating oneself can be annoying, I know. But the one question that I have for now is this, for the jobs that we receive, all but one seems to be fairly restrictive. Red Mage seems the most versatile, however, there are limitations even to that. I was wondering if there is any possible way to combine jobs so that you are able to use more than the primary weapon of your first job?
Before I arrived here, I was able to switch through eight different weapons. Mostly, it was due to my carrying them, but I have trained in all of them enough to be proficient, though I recognize I could use more training in some areas more than others. If this is possible, I would like to know! If not, then I will simply do what I can.
Thank you,
Firion

Note: I know I've linked two games, but Dissidia is considered a type of canon to Firion's respective game, Final Fantasy II. It's actually considered a canon for all the games mainly because of the convenient amnesia that happens in the beginning of the game (and hints throughout the game itself). If you would prefer I change Firion to AU, however, then I would be more than happy to do so!

Character's skills/abilities/powers: Because Firion has to carry every weapon evar, here's a handy dandy link. He is known as a Weapons Specialist. The six weapons that he holds he can use without much difficulty. The reason for this is due to the nature of the game he hails from, Final Fantasy II, in which you can have character learn any weapon. In Dissidia, he's given all six as a sort of homage to his friends and those he has fought with. One of his weapons includes a magic staff, however, he is by no means an expert on magic and, at the moment, only knows low level fire, ice, and thunder spells (fire being a fire ball that follows it's target for about thirty seconds before distinguishing itself if it has not hit a target, ice forms a frost over the target, sending a bit of a chill and momentarily stunning them, and the thunder is the equivalent to a small shock and perhaps minor disorientation).
His proficiency also allows him to use what little magic his has in conjunction with the combo techniques he uses, such as being able to throw his knives and reel them back with electricity, with also the help of an ability to call back his weapons should they be scattered.
Any special equipment your character is bringing along? This includes weaponry, magic items, etc.: He has the following weapons - a sword, axe, bow, staff, dagger, lance, and his Wild Rose.
Are you bringing your character to
ten_fwd from another game? If you are, which game?: No
Why do you want to play this character in Ten Forward, and what do you plan to do with them? Because all games need more Final Fantasy and Worf needs another warrior totackle speak to.
But in all seriousness, I also want to play him here because I think it would be really fun and interesting! He's from a Planet that is, for all intents and purposes, medieval era like with magic. So being on a spaceship is going to be a major culture shock. Although, to be fair, he doesn't remember much of his home right now due to the Conflict in Dissidia, so the transition may not be as bad. Especially when he hung out with people who were from Planets with technology and such!
In any case, I think it would be fun and interesting. c:
